Caring for your piece

  • Gold is soft. Take rings off for the gym, gardening and heavy lifting.
  • Put jewelry on last — after perfume, lotion and hairspray.
  • Chlorine and bleach attack the alloys in gold. Remove before pools and cleaning.
  • Store pieces apart. Diamonds scratch everything, including other diamonds.
Warm water, a drop of unscented dish soap, and a soft toothbrush behind the stone where oil collects. Rinse and pat dry with a lint-free cloth. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners on emeralds, opals, pearls and anything set with glue.
Send any piece back once a year and we will clean it, check the prongs and re-polish it. Catching a loose prong early is the difference between a five-minute job and a lost stone. Send it in the moment you notice something — leaving a known repair voids warranty cover.
Resizing is chargeable and quoted case by case by the founder — it is not included with any piece. Full eternity bands, pavé settings and rings with stones in the band often cannot be resized at all, and resizing more than one full size in either direction voids warranty cover.

Frequently asked

Reach out and we will help you size it. Measuring a ring they already wear is the most reliable way — send us a photo of it next to a ruler, or the inside diameter in millimetres, and we will work it out with you.
Every center stone over 0.30ct ships with its IGI or GIA report. Smaller accent stones are sold by total carat weight and quality range, which is standard across the trade.
Because haggling only rewards whoever is most willing to argue. The number on the page is the number, and it is worked out from the actual cost of the stone, the metal and the labour.
Yes. We reset heirloom stones regularly and it is often the most meaningful work we do. We will inspect the stone first and tell you honestly whether it is safe to reset.
You name the organization at checkout — any cause you like, with a link to it. A portion of your order is set aside the moment you order, sent there, and the confirmation is forwarded to you. It is listed on your receipt so you can hold us to it.
Message us straight away — and do not let another jeweler touch it, as that voids any cover you hold. If you bought warranty cover and the fault is a manufacturing defect, it is repaired under those terms. Otherwise we will quote the repair honestly, and often it is less than you expect.
We offer trade-in credit toward a new piece on anything we made. For pieces from elsewhere, ask — we will tell you whether it is worth more to you than to us.
