Warranty

What we stand behind

Cover is bought with your piece rather than included in the price, so you are never paying for it twice. Here is exactly what it does and does not do — written plainly, because a warranty you cannot understand is not worth holding.

First, the honest part

Gold is a soft metal. Platinum is softer than people expect. A ring worn every day sits on the busiest part of your body and takes years of small knocks. A warranty cannot change that, and any jeweler who tells you their setting is indestructible is selling you something.

So we cover the two things that are genuinely ours to answer for — the stone we sold you and the work we did — and we are straight with you about the rest.

If your center stone chips, cracks or fractures within five years of delivery, we replace it with a stone of the same specification at no charge to you.

We do not expect to ever use this clause. A well-cut diamond in a well-built setting should outlive all of us. It exists because you should not be the one carrying the risk if we got something wrong.

It does not cover force that no setting could survive — the ring going under a car, falling from height onto stone or tile, or your hand going into something hard at speed.

It does not cover a lost stone, and it does not cover a lost ring. Nothing we offer can. Insure the piece; it costs very little against what you paid, and it is the only thing that answers for loss or theft.

If something fails because of how we made it, we fix it or remake the affected part, free, for as long as the original buyer owns the piece.

That means faults such as a porous or badly poured casting, a solder joint that opens, a prong cut or set wrong from the start, a gallery or shank that fails under normal wear, or accent stones that come loose because the seats were cut badly.

You do not have to prove anything. Send the piece in and we will look at it properly — and if it turns out we made the mistake, we say so.

Tell us within 30 days of delivery if anything looks wrong out of the box. Early problems are almost always ours, and we would far rather hear about them straight away.

Every one of these is expected on a piece worn daily, and none of it is a defect. We repair all of it — it is simply chargeable rather than free:

  • Prongs lifting or bending after catching on fabric, hair or a bag strap
  • A band going slightly out of round from being knocked or gripped
  • A stone shifting a little in its seat after an impact
  • Scratches, dents and the soft dulling of a polished finish
  • Prong tips wearing thin, and a shank thinning underneath over years
  • Pavé loosening gradually with time

Have a piece checked once a year. A prong caught early is a few minutes of work; the same prong ignored is a stone on the floor of a parking lot.

Damage caused by an accident, by force, or by wearing the piece somewhere it should not have been:

  • Manual labor, lifting weights, contact sports, climbing
  • Wearing the ring under tight gloves day after day
  • Bending, twisting or forcing the metal or the stone deliberately
  • A snag hard enough to pull the setting out of true
  • Damage severe enough that the piece has to be remade rather than repaired

None of this makes you careless. It makes you someone who wears their ring. Take it off for the gym and the garden and you will likely never read this section again.

We show you a render before anything is cut, and we will change it as many times as you like. That is the whole point of working this way — the moment to speak up is while it is still on the screen.

Once you approve it, that approval is what we build to. If you realize you wanted something different and the piece has not entered production, tell us and we will change it. Once it is in production, we cannot — and a piece will not be remade under warranty because of a change of mind.

Take your time at the approval stage. There is no deadline on our side.

Cover ends if:

  • Another jeweler works on the piece — resizing, resetting, reshaping, retipping or anything else. Once someone else has been inside the setting we cannot vouch for it.
  • You notice a problem and carry on wearing it instead of sending it in.
  • You decline to send the piece in so we can actually look at it. We cannot diagnose from photographs.
  • The piece is resized more than one full size in either direction.
  • The piece has stones set in the band and has since been resized.
  • We supplied a setting only and someone else set the stone.

And it does not begin at all on a piece built against our advice — a band under 2mm, a stone over 2 carats without the reinforcement we recommend for it, or U-prongs, which we will build if you insist but do not stand behind, because they do not survive daily wear.

Shipping a piece to us for warranty work is yours to arrange and pay for, and we would strongly encourage insuring it while it travels.

We pay to send it back to you by USPS Priority Mail, insured. Any faster or different service is chargeable.

Duties, taxes and tariffs in either direction are the customer's responsibility.

Email us at with photographs and a sentence about what happened. We will tell you whether it looks like a warranty matter before you post anything.

Then send the piece in. We inspect it, tell you honestly what we find, and either repair it under cover or quote the work before touching it. Nothing is ever done without your say-so.

Assessment is free whichever way it turns out.
